Tool Time Thursdays : Heat Tool

Does everyone know what time it is??? Its Tool Time!! Thats right, it has been a while since there was a Tool Time Thursday here. Well in general there are always tools that are being used, but the purpose of Tool Time Thursdays is to highlight specifically just one tool that most stampers dont have, or have but still dont quite know how to use :)

Todays tool is Stampin' Up's Heat Tool

Well todays tool goes side by side with Embossing powder of course, because you just cant have the heat tool, what are you going to heat?? Oh yes, and cant forget your versamark ink pad.

So what I did to start off this card was, on a piece of Old Olive cardstock, I inked up a few designs from the Circle Circus stamp set using my versamark ink.

Then I added some gold embossing powder. shake off the excess powder and then put my heat tool to use.
Basically all you are going to do with the heat gun in apply the heat to the image and you will slowly see the powder turn into a wonderful gold emboss. It is hot, so make sure to hold down your cardstock to your table with either a pair of scissors or tweezers.
After all the circles were embossed, I punched out a few circles using the 3/4" circle punch.
I hope you like the card, I was inspired by this card and knew that I just had to duplicate it.

I hope you enjoyed the quick tutorial! :)
