Sometimes I find parents do not understand that these Early Childcare Educators have a hard job! Taking care of a whole bunch of kids all day long, each child with different needs and demands. As much as I love my kids, I definetly wont be able to take care of 5, even MORE at a time, day after day after day.
So to all the daycare workers all around the world:I couldnt thank you enough for being avaiable and there so that we can go out and make some cheddah.
Here is what I made for the ladies:
I made 12 of these shadow boxes in just about 2.5 hours. So if you calculate that, I only had to spend 13 minutes per shadow box. Not bad eh???
To make the process fly by, I made these in an assembly line style, doing each step of the project 12 times instead of completing one project each time, then another and another.
4. Next, using bashful blue and and bordering blue, I coloured in JUST the flowers on the twelve 1 3/4" x 4 5/8" pieces.
Then on the twelve birds on the scrap piece of whisper white, I coloured the bird and branch using soft suede, bashful blue, bordering blue and cremy caramel.Cut out all twelve birds from the scrap cardstock and set aside for now.
* I got the image and colour inpiration from the talented Amy Celeno
5. On the twelve stamp images, using a sponge dauber I sponged the edges in either Soft Suede or Not Quite Navy.
I cut 6 strips each of Kraft and Bordering Blue Cardstock 2 1/2" x 4 5/8". I used my Eyelet border punch and punched both the top and bottom and then sliced in strip in half for a total of 24 strips of cardstock with the eyelet border detail.
6. Next I stamped my sentiment "gratitude" from the Define Your Life stamp set. Punched out using the Wide Oval punch and sponged with either Not Quite Navy or Soft Suede.
Ink the edges of your designer paper squares. Then glue all 12 stamped image strips to all twelve designer paper squares. I did not center the image as I wanted the sentiment to balance of the image, so I glued the images just a little bit more higher.
We are almost done, I know it seems like a lot of steps but I promise it was super fast! Now take all those cut out little coloured in birdies from before and use dimentionals to pop them ONTOP of the non coloured soft suede image of the bird on the main piece. did you follow me there?? eheheh.
Then I used dimentionals to pop the sentiment right below the branch.
TA DA!!! All done in no time!
Here is a close up of the image.
